The logistics - Each of our artists are licensed by the State of Connecticut as Tattoo Technicians, having also completed bloodborne pathogens training and basic first aid. We are the top-rated tattoo shop with our area Health Department, and practice with the utmost concern for cleanliness and sterility, and you can see it from the moment you walk through the doors.

Lucky Soul first opened its doors in 2001 - fast forward a couple’a decades of hard work & dedication - to 2026, when LST found its permanent home in the legendary ‘Captain Thunderbolt House’, located in Woodbridge CT, at the base of beautiful West Rock Ridge. Now surrounded by the peaceful sights and sounds of nature, your visit to Lucky Soul will be even more memorable.

We have poured our hearts & (lucky) souls into this final version of Lucky Soul Tattoo, and you can feel it the moment you walk inside. Nestled within a historical home, and even more comfortable, cozy, and welcoming than ever before. Once you come to Lucky Soul for a tattoo, you won’t want to go anywhere else - because there really is no other place like LST.

The LST Story:

Jim LoPresti first opened the doors of Lucky Soul Tattoo in December of 2001 in Ansonia, Connecticut. Believing that a tattoo shop didn't have to be a place where people felt uncomfortable or unwelcome, Jim started out LST challenging the old tattoo shop narrative by greeting each client with a friendly smile. Great tattoos with that kind of customer service really caught on, and Lucky Soul became one of the top-rated tattoo shops in Connecticut.

Partnering up with Tracey was a no-brainer, and in 2010 together they moved Lucky Soul to the town of Woodbridge, for it’s close proximity to Downtown New Haven (we’re just a stone’s throw from the New Haven City Line), and the Merritt Parkway for our travelers - many of our clients come for amazing tattoos, then follow it up with some of that infamously delicious New Haven pizza.

Lucky Soul now has a powerhouse of a crew, offering every style you can imagine, and anyone who works at the shop has been personally vetted by Jim to ensure that they bring in the same attitude and personality that people have come to expect from LST.

A Look Back…

Lucky Soul first opened its doors in 2001, in the town of Ansonia - in 2011 LST moved moved from Ansonia to Woodbridge.

The first move brought us to 214 Amity Road, Woodbridge, and Lucky Soul was first found in a quaint, cozy, more private-studio-leaning space on the second floor. In May of 2018 Lucky Soul moved down to the first floor of that same building, expanding in size to bring on more artists.

After surviving the challenging COVID years, Lucky Soul found then found that this giant location on the first floor, although beautiful and spacious, was really no longer needed - people email instead of coming in…

So in 2026 Lucky Soul found its permanent home in a historic old Captain Thunderbolt House at 88 Bradley Road, Woodbridge, Connecticut!
